Course description

Who is it for: If you are a teaching or healthcare professional wanting to offer a therapy dog service for your setting, you plan to volunteer for a pet therapy organisation or offer an independent paid for service, this course is for you. Course type: Mixed: Live dog training sessions & temperament assessment. Back up video based tutorials for you to practice at home. On booking this course you will also be enrolled into Therapy Dog Workshops 1&2 at no extra cost for your fully comprehensive downloads and reading materials to work towards your certification. Entry Requirements: You must have completed & passed our Therapy Dog Workshops 1&2 before the start date of the live course & your dog will need to be 18 months old or over (please contact us if he is younger) You will have to have completed & trained your dog to the the silver level which is shown on our Therapy Dog Workshops 1&2 and be ready for the TDT UK Temperament Assessment & to take the TDT UK Training Award. To attend this live course your dog will need have trained your dog to our Silver level & completely happy working in a room with 4 or 5 other dogs. If your dog is unhappy and reacting in any way to other dogs or people we may have to ask you to leave for the welfare of your dog without a refund. All instructional videos for these and more can be found in our Therapy Dog Workshops 1&2. He must have a great temperament and be confident and happy to meet other dogs & people. Award: On successful completion of the course you can go on to achieve TDT UK - Visiting Therapy Dog Certification and membership of TDT UK. *Please note our course is for a visiting therapy dog and not a dog used as emotional support. *Terms and Conditions apply Training Location: Bristol.
